The Doctor of Sacred Theology represents the Church's highest academic degree in theology, preparing scholars for teaching, research, and specialized service to the universal Church.

This rigorous research doctorate requires mastery of theological disciplines, competence in biblical and theological languages, comprehensive examinations, and the completion of a substantial doctoral dissertation that contributes original scholarship to Catholic theology.
